British Airways Launch Direct Flights To Antalya   2007-11-20


Exciting news for travellers from the U.K to Antalya, British Airways have announced that they will operate flights from Gatwick to Antalya with three flights per week to Antalya from April 10, 2008. This is exciting news for the region that has already seen an increase of 25% in tourist numbers since last year. Now travellers will be able to choose from flights on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for departures to the city on the Mediterranean coast, according to the New Anatolian

The move by the airline signals the growing popularity of the region of Antalya with British holidaymakers, "Antalya is in south-west Turkey and is an increasingly popular leisure destination with new tourism facilities being developed," said British Airways commercial director Robert Boyle.

Turkey is also a popular destination with passengers flying from regional airports and has contributed to the growth of local terminals in recent times.Among the regional airports across the UK which offer regular flights to Turkey are Stansted, Exeter, Robin Hood Sheffield/Doncaster and Newcastle.
